Clubs doing better than us punt managers/coaching staff all the time. Now would be as 'good' a time as any, to move on from Wenger.

If Wenger has a say in recruiting the next manager we will be fucked. Need a young winner to come in and change the excuse culture at the club.

I want Wenger to stay but I actually think now would be as good a time as any to replace him. Squad full of quality young players tied up to contracts, good defensive base and just 2-3 signing needed with plenty of financial backup and CL football to make it happen.

And if he were to win the FA cup he would leave on a high, with a new stadium mostly paid off, huge funds and income in the bank, and a young team with talented players that need refining. It would be perfect timing for him personally, without breaking any contracts.

klopp right now is sort of where wenger was in 2006. he's taken dortmund as far as he can take them, and his team is unwinding - he'd have to consider an opportunity like arsenal if it came along. he's young, has a great reputation, and would fire up our supporters. the english media would love him. but he's not the mastermind behind dortmund's transfer successes - we'd need to sort that out to make sure the summer goes smoothly.

Not to mention that salary that he'll get. We pay 8m per year for Wenger; I can't see Klopp turn down that salary if Wenger were to leave.

City and Chelsea changed managers but also invested big money - evens things out, smooths the transition.
We should learn from that.
United changed managers and wasted a shed load of money on Fellaini, we should learn from that too.

I agree. When he goes whether its now or later we need a clean break. Look whats happened at United with Fergies choice and Fergie still there looking over his shoulder every minute. If the board want Wengers advice fine, sound him out, tell no one and then make a decision but don't fucking anoint someone as Wengers pick for manager.

Wenger's not dumb enough to pick a successor because he's a Scottish lad who is "determined".

He's also not leaving for at least another 3 years, probably another 5-6.

Still, he's not picking a successor because he's a French sophisticate though who comes from a good family. Silvestre was a cheapo squad player in the no-money days.

Its hard to know what Wenger would do really. I'd just like who ever comes in to start with a clean slate and be allowed to apply his own philosophies and techniques. No cow towing to Wengers legacy.
