They'll take Diaby?!
someone post the Spanish squad.
Max Meyer made the German squad. I've heard amazing things about him this season.
Preliminary squad only. He will drop out when the final 23 is announced. But yes, he has been more impressive than Draxler this season.
Surely France are the underdogs.
Easy group and no one is talking about them.
Who knows maybe some of our boys will come back with a WC medal ala 98.
Imagine Girloud finishing top goalscorer....Hahahaha.
i hope japan do well, enough of just few individuals shining. Honda, kagawaa, nagatomo , hopefully they have some killer striker
Cole out, Shaw in apparently. I would have left Baines.
I would have taken both Cole and Baines.
I would play Shaw and the let the man with five quality tournaments of experience mentor him and the other youngsters in the squad.
Plus Baines is an average player in my opinion and should be passed over.
I'd take Baines and Shaw personally, Cole is finished. Reckon youthful exuberance is probably more valuable than experience in these tourny's more often than not.
That aside, Baines isn't fit to lace Cole's boots. Even now.
Finished? He was class against Liverpool and Atletico just recently.
#Cashley #pretty #much #confirms #that #Baines #and #Shaw #are #picked. Also retires from international football.

Think it's good for Arsenal that Gibbs misses out. He will continue to improve and be a regular in the England squad soon enough. Shaw has had a good season and definitely looks like a world class talent but things can change quickly.
DM say the squad is: Joe Hart, Ben Foster, John Ruddy, Glen Johnson, Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Leighton Baines, Jordan Henderson, Jack Wilshere, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Raheem Sterling, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Luke Shaw, Ross Barkley and Rickie Lambert
Nice one Roy, easy £900 winnings coming my way if they're right. :hat:

Good work. If that's right I'm pleased that Lambert is picked.
It's a very good squad IMO and I think England will do well in the tournament. There is a healthy amount of talent there but a lot of these younger players seem to have a good attitude. Would've taken Carrick instead of Lampard even though he hasn't had a good season.
Could do with one less defender. Unlikely that both Jones and Smalling will be used and it's possible that neither of them will be used. I'd take Carroll over Smalling. I'd take Barry over Lampard as well. This is a short tournament, not some war of attrition; not everyone needs a direct backup and defenders are the most replaceable.
Six defenders is already short in my opinion.
Oh wait, there are seven. That's about right.
