There's something about the way Flamini runs at exactly the same pace from the beginning to the end, and even swinging his foot like that doesn't change it, that make this gif more special. It's like he's in "it's inevitable, I'm just running to meet it" mode, and then just continues the same run after 😆

Imagine if Ancelotti picked Ozil over Di Maria. Di Maria is a good player but that would have hardly have been a paradigm shifting signing. Thank god Di Maria was so adamant about wanting to stay at Madrid.

I think it had a lot to do with Ancelotti's views on team ethics too. Di Maria was ready to sit on the bench and play out of position if it suited the team. He was willing to bleed for Madrid. Özil was not.
