Buffoonery on a Fabianski or Al scale but so much worse because it was Fabregas who was involved.

Watch the highlights?!! Hell, I still haven't seen Spurs' 3rd goal!

I actually watched the game delayed by 2 hours. When Spurs scored their 2nd goal, I deduced we would lose given how little momentum we had at the time. I checked the score online, saw Spurs had won and I quit my recording.

I can't even picture their third goal in my mind and I watched the whole match.

One of those games where I will certainly be avoiding the highlights. Can't remember how long it took me to able to face watching Neil Mellor's fluke against us a few years back.

It's strange, when it went 2-1 I thought- Fuck it we're going to draw like the 4-4 game, and they'll have the dvds on sale Monday but when it did go 2-2 I knew we'd lose it.
Again the analogy of watching a car crash in slow motion and being unable to do anything to stop it, the horrible inevitability......

The minute Bale scored I knew we were done for.
I had that sickening feeling of dread.
Watched the game with a Manc friend who could barely contain his glee when Fabregas pawed the ball.
I couldn't even react when they scored the third.
Possibly the one of the worst football watching experiences of my life.

It's not a mythical leader mate, at some point in the game it only takes one person to say "boys, the game is in the balance here, calm down a bit"; it doesn't have to be the same person every time, it doesn't even have to be a general statement, Clichy for instance could tell Arshavin that he needs some help when it's all coming on top. It's clear that nobody says a word.

Or somebody to go on a few charging runs right at the oppositions defence. Rally the crowd, inject some urgency, some sense of determination to retrieve the situation.

Dare I say but Gerrard does it quite often for Liverpool.

This is what I'm trying to get across, it's all very well saying we're only 2 points behind, but this is there now forever with the 6-1 and 1-3 to Man Utd.
Mercifully I haven't seen the 1-3 1991 FA cup semi final loss, once I learned the score that was enough.

Well I guess it's difficult for our captain to create a dynamic change as he's more of a 'facilitator' than a 'game-changer'. In other words, I see him as a player that relies on the intelligence/movement (etc.) of others in order to work his magic and that he can't force a sea-change on his own.

Someone like Nasri however, would be closer I think, to what y va is getting at... :angel:

Gabs said exactly that to me after the game yesterday. I just nodded dumbly.

Me too. The fifteen minutes between the 1st Spurs goal and the equaliser I seemed to spend willing the clock to 90 minutes. When the winner went in, there was mass exodus in front of me.
