I noticed that, about Ryo, as well but i suppose it's tough when you come halfway across the world, at his age, to a completely different culture and don't speak the lingo.
We have seen this from others, who are not from that far away.
He, also, seems intelligent enough to have probably realised he is at risk of being cut!
