He should have had more assists too by now. He has put in some great crosses this season. I agree about the key passes bit. His ball to Gnabry for our first against Spurs was a top pass. If he has that kind of intelligent movement into space in front of him there is not reason why he can't make important passes.

It is mainly because we kept playing on our right side. If we have a proper left winger, Gibbs and Monreal would have had good chances to cross too. A properly overlapping fullback would have created more dangerous chances than crosses, because he can just cut it back for a tap-in. Debuchy, Coleman, Zabaleta does it well.

That said, it is also a fact Sagna's crosses this season have been quality. Giroud should have scored from a few of his crosses.

Monreal is not better than Sagna offensively IMO, and he is not even close defensively. Defending, you know? The main thing for a defender?

He's clueless when it comes to defending. Jenkinson is easily the better defender IMO.

He is not clueless, but he is definitely at his best at the other end of the pitch.

Honestly, there are very few FBs around as good as Sagna. Can't for the life of me understand how we have got into the situation we are in now regarding his contract. I could somewhat understand there was hesitance how he would come back after his double leg break, but this is just ridiculous.

Didn't Wenger say he wouldn't want the two French strikers in the same squad? Don't see why it'd be an issue, both would play plenty.

Think he was just advocating for his own player. If Benzema was offered to him then Giroud would be out the door tomorrow. Maybe there would be a season in-between Benzema arriving and Giroud leaving but I doubt it.
