I think Vermaelen is too good to sit on the bench for us, he won't go in January but almost definitely leave in the summer. Tough situation for both because it would be unfair to force him to stay when we know he isn't going to become first choice. Who knows though, if we have a good season he might wanna try another year.
Like Klaus says we need to start looking at beyond Per and Koscielny, both getting close to 30 so they've got a few years ahead of them but need to start planning beyond that.
