Lovren would be neat if vermaelen goes
Stocking fillers—a letter to Stan-ta Klaus
Fuck it. Let's get El Shaarawy in january.
Let's get Jackson Martinez!
Let's get El Shaarawy instead.
Hmm. Nah, let's get Jackson Martinez!
Klaus wrote:Let's get El Shaarawy instead.
Yes please, doubt we will get that ready made superstar in Jan. Shaarawy or a Draxler would be the next best thing
Klaus wrote:Fuck it. Let's get El Shaarawy in january.

Yeah. If you knew which number was false, then why didn't you just ignore it? Thanks a lot, otf. You've just cost us El Shaarawy.

We are Arsenal Volly, we don't need any scum or shit in our team, we're not that desperate.
Should pick up cabaye in 1-2 years to replace Arteta IMO and keep arteta ala giggs
Would rather Lars Bender be the man who replaces Arteta.
I don't care who replaces Arteta at this point in time, because he doesn't need replacing. I don't see us needing another CM for next season either. Spunk our load on a top striker and a defender I say.
Would like to see a RB backup of the Monreal quality....
So many decent RBs around. Uchida, Jung, Juanfran, Sakai, Piszczcek, Danilo etc etc. No worries
Jung Sakai

Lars Bender doesn't really play that sort of role though, completely different type of midfielder.
Arteta didn't play the role he is currently playing before either. I know he played the role growing up, but he hasn't played this role as a pro before. You look at the Bender brothers, and you see why they may work very well in that type of role.
Forget the role and look at the attributes. Bender isn't near the passer or technician that Arteta is. Has struggled in the CL this season. All he did vs United was lump balls into the penalty area.
I'd take him as back up to Ramsey, but he's expensive for that. Would rather Schneiderlin, plus he's homegrown.
Flamini isn't half the passer Arteta is either, and yet he gets the job done. There are different ways to play that shielding role, and I can see many advantages having a Bender brother there.
I am warming to Schneiderlin btw!
Ramsey takes more responsibility for buildup when he's next to Flamini and he generally tends to play well next to Flamini. Hurts the team overall though IMO.
What's good for Ramsey is good for the team.

A year ago we were warming to Diame.
Biggus wrote:What's good for Ramsey is good for the team.
No, not really. Ramsey performs with either. Arsenal performs best with Arteta-Ramsey as the midfield pairing.
That is a too definitive statement IMO. With Walcott in the team for example, the dynamics of central midfield changes; they are expected to give Sagna support early when we lose the ball high up the pitch, due to Walcott's higher position relative to Ramsey or Wilshere. Flamini is certainly more mobile than Arteta and should therefore, in theory at least, be able to better execute that particular thing.
Don't think so. Arteta hasn't been found lacking in the last two seasons with Walcott as a key player in the side.
Really plays a little like Messi. Scottish league is piss poor though
Spend big dollar on big striker guarantees the prem for us

Give me Falcao or Suárez please and thank you.
No thanks to Falcao.
Why not?
Don't think he offers enough and for that kind of money I'd like a complete #9 who is world class in multiple areas.
But do we need him to offer all that much? What we need is someone who will bang them in regularly and he's the best in the business at that. All the other qualities are already offered by those around him (Özil, Walcott, Ramsey, Cazorla, etc.).
Insane to say no to Falcao, best orthodox number 9 in the world.
Not gettable though, Monaco is too rich
