Just because we signed Özil doesn't mean we're going to go crazy. Wenger won't pay 45m Euros for a project who wouldn't be first XI right away, which is exactly what Draxler is IMO.

Someone like Reus on the other hand is well worth it. Established in one or two positions, can fit into our team seamlessly, etc, etc.

Sure. Why not? He's a central midfielder if I ever saw one. I think he'll end up a bit like Arteta as he grows older.

we're good in central midfield Klaus, although we don't really have a pipeline, unless you count Ox as a CM. Dench doesn't count.
Get Reus in and show me the team that can deal with Ramsey, Ozil, Reus and Cazorla all on the field together.

As a fixed fee maybe, but he'll cost more than 25m pounds with add ons.

^^^Every report I've seen has his release clause at 45m Euros.

I've seen many people who are convinced Draxler could become a world class #9 due to his ball striking skills and height. It's not that simple, but even if it were, I can't see Wenger shelling out 45m Euros for a project when he's been able to unearth top class strikers for peanuts. For 45m Euros I'd expect Wenger to sign a bonafide superstar centre forward.

I don't really see us getting Draxler either, but I'd be absolutely thrilled if we did. He is already comfortable on either wing and as a number 10, and I don't really see the need to convert him into anything else. However, I think he could be converted into a number 9, and that makes him extra interesting to me.

Benzema would cost less than half that, not that I particularly want him.

Only realistic "bonafide superstar" I could think of. Suarez is another option actually.

My point is that a well known superstar wouldn't necessarily be better, or better value for money.
