Pato is a complete carcass now. he's just as useless in Brazil as he was in Italy.
we are better off depending on Park
Stocking fillers—a letter to Stan-ta Klaus
Pogba can really be awesome to watch sometimes. Thought about us signing him... then realised he's a poor man's Aaron Ramsey
We should get Quagliarella on loan in January, and spend big on Suarez (my 1st choice) or Rooney in the summer. Similar to what Man United did in 2006/2007; Saha was their main striker but he was unreliable, they got Larsson in January to help push them over the line, and spent big on Tevez in the summer.
We really should be able to sign a really good #9 in the summer. Might not be able to get someone in the very top bracket like Rooney, but one of Costa/Benzema/Dzeko/Mandzukic/etc should be attainable.
Disadvantage of getting another out and out striker is your 2nd choice striker almost always suffers/loses his way. You can't spend big on say someone like Falcao, and take him off in the 2nd half of every game to give your 2nd striker some minutes. What if you only have a slender lead (which is mostly the case in the PL), would you really take off Falcao for Giorud? hell no! Therefore it's important we bring in a top quality versatile forward who can play with or without Giroud. A Suarez (can play in all 4 forward positions to a high standard) or a Rooney is the way to go.
It's up to Wenger to rotate properly.
Very difficult to do though, don't you think so? Fergie was very good at rotating, but even he couldn't get the RVP-Hernandez situation right. The Mexican has not looked nowhere the same since RVP signed for them.
Hernandez still managed to score more goals than Giroud last season. Having two quality centre forwards for one place in the team is essential.
But still didn't look the same player to me. I think it was one of the reasons Real decided to cash in on Higuain. It was sort of counter productive having him and Higuain fight for the same spot. Liverpool and Barca have got it spot on IMO.
Yeah, it's so counter productive that Real Madrid went and won the league in 11/12.
Can't compare Barca to anyone, they have Messi. United always have 4 strikers for 2 places in the team and United always win the league. I think they have it spot on.
That's why i'd go for Pato, he can play in place for Giroud or out wide to keep up form.
Pato? We have Bendtner (and Park), don't need another useless striker.
Pato is better than Bendtner.
High praise indeed!

Firstly Falcao would play well with or without Giroud. Secondly if a top striker is available for you and better than what you have then you sign him simple as that. You don't pass up the chance to sign Ozil and you don't pass up the chance to sign any other top player. If that ruins or limits Giroud 's chances too bad for him. (This doesn't include the nutcase mentioned above this post who's scored 10 goals from open play in the last 10 months and whose work rate as far as I remember at City was non-existent)
the reason Suarez is so attractive is that like an Henry or an Aguero he can play down the centre in place of Giroud or he can go to the wing and give us another goal threat. basically, a turbo-charged Podolski.
Benzema could do such a job as well. if Madrid can get a striker, it's worth seeing if we can resuscitate the Frenchman. if Wenger had him for a whole summer, put him with a finishing coach (Bergkamp) and trimmed him down 10 pounds, Benzema could come back wicked.
You'll never give up on Benzema ever, ever, ever, would you Claude?
Even if he had Chamakh's legs and Clichy's brains transplanted, I'd never give up. I'm a faithful fan.
Wenger would fix up Benzema in no time.
