This manager's tactics were capable of making Gallas and Toure look like shit defenders at times. Even if a Cahill or a Jagielka comes we need to be patient and recognise that there are certain implicit difficulties in defending well in a Wenger side.
Any improvement would be good - and if we can ship fewer than about 35 goals this season and far fewer when we should be defending for our lives, I'll be quite happy that we've stepped up significantly. Especially since we are about to disrupt our front six again - and possibly we'll play a bit more end to end stuff rather than focusing on possession so much if and when Fabregas and Nasri head off.
