We'll obviously never know, but I don't think he's where he is now as a consequence of being thrown into random positions by Wenger when he wasn't ready. I think he would have gotten here anyway, because players with the ability and the attitude come good regardless as long as they're given the chance. He didn't need 75 chances to fail, just a few reasonable chances to succeed.

We'll obviously never know that as well. Fact is - he was utter shit, Wenger did different things (horrible as they were), and now he's divine. Related? unrelated? how could we ever know?
