Villarreal managed to get Oliver on loan from Atleti. He's a fantastic talent, like a cross between David Silva and Xavi. Villarreal play some of the best football in Europe so he'll fit right in.

He has struggled to get a game at Atletico all season. Did manage to watch one of the games he started in though, and he was very average. He looked top class in that U21 tournament recently, but he seems to have some way still to go to make the step up to play senior football.

Atletico take the lead. Villa scores from a Diego Costa cross. Would be good if they knock Barcelona off the top spot.

Costa back in form. Great goal. Very sharp to keep himself onside, the touch to take the ball over the top into his path, the pace to get away from the defenders and then the composure to sidefoot it into the corner. Everything you'd want from a striker.

He'd be such an improvement on Giroud. Can do everything Giroud does at a much higher level. How many times do we lose possession or have a move killed when Giroud receives on the flanks? Costa can actually dribble and make things happen from wide areas.

Herrera is all over the pitch. In the final third one moment, pressing the ball in midfield the next. Ramsey esque.

Tactics

Bilbao are a very good footballing side, one of my favourites La liga teams.

Was shocked to see Iraola start on the bench, bold move by Velverde to drop his regular RB in favour a midfielder. I guess it's case of fighting fire with fire. Been working a treat so far though, Bilbao are murdering Madrid on the right. Ronaldo hardly tracked back, Di Maria was forced to provide cover for Marcelo which meant Herrera and Mikel Rico had more space to operate in.

A player of Benat's quality can't get a game for Atleti - mental! It's easy to see why though with the way Mikel Rico has been playing.

Tactics

Bilbao were very average after the break. Think Madrid could have won the match had Ronaldo not been sent off.

Thought Bilbao were excellent. Unreal work ethic throughout the team. Really don't want Ander Herrera to join Man U.

Valverde is probably the next Barcelona manager.
