I think he is also very inconsistent, though it has to be said in the big games Di Maria usually puts in a good performance. Excellent dribbling and pace from out wide and he always causes problems. He'll always track back to defend as well, which is also very important these days.

It might be his lack of goals is more down to the team and it all being focussed on Ronaldo but Bale has chipped in this season though. I wouldn't mind taking a punt on him and Benzema, I reckon we'd make both of them look better here.

Ronaldo is physically declining and can no longer dominate the big games as he used too. He'll get you 40 goals but I feel he hit the top of the bell curve 2 seasons ago.

Apparently, according to Rooney's biography, Ronaldo would pump himself up shirtless in front of a mirror before going out onto pitch. When he came back from the WC 2006 he came back all muscular.
