Well as Wenger hates Podolski, and is too conservative to change the system, surely B-52 is the most logical choice.

Not that I have seen much of Campbell either in Greece or Spain, but my understanding is that he has pretty much exclusively played on the wing for two years. Fail to see how he would be an option for Eeyore tbh.
Who cares anyway. He was a player we took a punt on, hasn't set foot in England, and will be sold in the summer. The only thing which makes no sense is that our 'negotiating team' spent weeks trying to sign the dude when we clearly had bigger issues to resolve.

The thing about Campbell is that he received an English work permit last summer but Wenger shipped him out to Greece all the same and signed Sanogo instead. To me it says that Campbell is done here, or possibly that he never had a shot to begin with. We probably signed him for the same reason Chelsea are bulking up on so many young players: to make a profit down the line when we sell him.

Chelsea invests very smartly. They will either make a profit on those players or get them as good players in future. See what they have done with De Bruyne etc, and those they have loaned out are having very good seasons so far.

I can't think of a single young non-EU player we have signed who when they didn't get the special talent visa straight away, Wenger has given a chance to. Miyachi is probably the closest, but once they are loaned away for 2 to 3 years, they are completely off our radar and just become assets to sell. I think we should stop the practice as down the line, players in the same position might think twice about joining us ahead of other big rivals.

Smart? Dude, look at some of the figures they have spent to buy the likes of De Bruyne, Lukaku and Curtois.

Mourinho has admitted several times that Chelsea buy up players with the sole intention of making a profit by selling them. It becomes obvious when you look at their current loan list too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_FC#Out_on_loan

The majority of these guys aren't reserves and youngsters who are getting blooded in - they are key players at their current clubs. Think it's appalling personally.

Spent some time reading up on this yesterday. Apparently Campbell was one international cap short of the 75% quota in the summer so we loaned him out. He got it in september but by that time the transfer window was closed.

There are some highlights of him on youtube. They look pretty good. Maybe we will keep him after all.

It's just talk. His main priority seems to be playing time at the moment. He'd gladly go to a Premier League club if we could find him one where he's guaranteed a fair chance.
