Might have something to do with it, but I think the players we've kept around the first XI in the past two seasons have been happier, more amiable sorts of guys.
We've brought in Arteta, Mertesacker, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud and the like … all of these guys are happy characters without unusually precious egos.
At the same time we've jettisoned some record-breaking malcontents and ne'er-do-wells, so it's not surprising morale has been on the up.
