Iwobi never blew me away for the youth sides, but it was obvious he was smart and had very good touch and passing. He's a Number 10 really though. He needs to be right in the thick of things; lots of touches, lots of good movement etc. Unless we're playing him as a third midfielder, more Barcelona style than how Özil plays it - which is how Iwobi played against Burnley - I don't think he's dynamic or threatening enough to really make a mark out wide or special enough to play as THE playmaker ahead of the midfield and behind the striker.
However, he makes good decisions under pressure because his touch and awareness is very good, that makes him a player. Maybe not a star player, but potentially very useful nonetheless. I'd like to see him, along with a few others others, become part of a squad in the future that has a strong academy vibe to it - and players like him that are solid all-round shouldn't be sold off. He has the technique to play here that's the important part.
