He's getting better results, he's got some really good talent into the club and he has sorted out a few decent loans. It's a big improvement on the last 5 years or so. Whatever some may think of him personally, he's doing a good job.
As for the kid, I doubt they'd take a talent like that and waste precious development time playing him at left back. Honestly, they might shift him around in midfield or up front but sticking him at left back for any length of time would be a bit too far. If he's half as good as he looks in that video he won't stay long as a left back regardless of why he's playing there.
