Willock is fine - I’ve yet to see anything from Nelson. He’s just not explosive enough and he lacks a killer mentality

I’ve been hearing he’s just a year behind Sancho. Well he really needs to step it up then. Something is not clicking for him. Maybe it’s just him. Maybe it’s the manager. Progression isn't a straight line. If we can't allow the youngsters to fail as part of their learning curve then what's the point of even investing in youth? Chuck them out the minute they don't stake a claim, like Chelsea did with Salah and De Bruyne? You'd think we'd have learned the lesson ourselves just by looking at Malen, Bennacer and Jeff right now.

He has all the talent you could dream of in an academy prospect, but proper football is something else. And you never know until they're in the middle of a battle, in front of dozens of thousands of fans how they're going to react. Right now he's failing badly.

There's still lots of time for him to get to grips with it all though, but he needs to earn his munutes even at this stage and right now he's not.

Needs game time - it's sink or swim now. Looked woefully off the pace yesterday when he came on - literally looked like he was shocked.

Both the youngsters who came on looked well out of their comfort zone and overwhelmed by the match yesterday. They had looked promising in the games before but nowhere near good enough yesterday and they didn't look cut out for that level. One off match doesn't kill them but they can't afford many of those types of performances.

If the team is shellshocked and veterans are making mistakes left right and centre, its not easy for a young player to come in and thrive. Having said that Nelson is a worry because he's not even shown a glimmer of promise in the first team, which is something gnabry did pretty much from his his first few appearances

It’s fine margins. Scored the offside goal against Burnley and a few inches either way with his effort yesterday he would have gotten ‘another’. People talk about Pepe needing a goal or two but it’s probably more so the case for Nelson. The guys oozes class, you could even see it yesterday, he’s just badly struggling with the physical aspect. Hopefully he’s just growing into his body.

Both our young lads got muscled off the ball easily while Nelson had problems with the intensity. They had moments where they showed real class though and it'll come through.

he doesn't have sterling or sanchos outboard motor of an arse that gives them that desirable low centre of gravity. he looks too slight physically, and lacking the explosion needed to make the most of his dribbling skills.

I can excuse Willock yesterday. He tried and got out muscled. That's fine.

Nelson was strolling around and his touches was totally off. On the ball he did extreme stupid things and when he lost possession he gave up.

People say he is more talented than Hudson Odoi and just a step behind Sancho I just dont see it. I'm hoping to be proven wrong but so far his general gameplay is disappointing, positioning basics is way off even Auba gave up playing with him as he kept running into people giving others no option for a pass. Honestly Saka showed more in his first few minutes than Nelson ever did for us, need to buck the fuck up

I really hope it's a confidence issue, because to me he doesn't seem to have any outstanding abilities at this point.
