Forgot to post this the other day. I'm sure it's Northern Ireland tying the kid down because he could still choose to play for England, but good for him. And, at the very least, it shows they rate him for the future.
I'm a fan of Danny. I think he has big potential. Got an interesting back story at Arsenal, too. He has been released by the club twice and he's come back both times. The situation changed when they moved him to centreback, previously he was in centre midfield, and he has excelled since the switch a few seasons back.
He's big, strong, has a decent turn of pace, is a good reader of the game and nose for danger. And he's a real character and leader too.
