Against any decent side we'd miss Girouds hold up play and aerial ability.

Who cares if Jenkinson is over 6 foot? Any time he needs to win a header for the team he fails miserably. He's cost us a few goals over the last two seasons due to his lack of aerial prowess.

Agreed, but given the way a few teams have been trying to play against us this season we may benefit from having someone like Podolski play up front but drop deep in to midfield. Could help us build better against sides who pressure high.

He's fucked up twice trying to head the ball back to the keeper (against Chelsea and in pre season), care to name other games where he cost us?

He's good at defending them from corners or free kicks IMO.

Villa at home last season. Headed a ball right to Villa on a counter and they scored. Also vs WBA A this season, not 100% sure on that though. Have to see it again.

It may be harsh but Jenkinson is pretty useless at the best of times. He may come good but he's easily the worst player in the squad.

In the Chelsea game he also steered a really fast header straight in Ramsey's face. Ramsey looked like he wanted to kill him for that!

I think we've enough going on in the area Podolski drops into. I want our point man to push onto the back 4 when we're in possession. Occasionally Theo might succeed at this but he breaks through better from the right than as the cf.

A sloppy header upfield can happen, just like even the best passers in the game can misplace a simple pass. So that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm mainly talking about losing headers from corners, free kicks, crosses etc He's played a lot of matches for us over the years, how many times has he cost us a goal by losing his man on corners for example?
