Costa is just a Latin van Persie. what kind of fiend chooses to play for another country in the 9 months before the World Cup is to be played in his country and he is clearly the best striker in his homeland?

Not really comfortable with this discussion, but the bottom line is that he doesn't need to fit other people's definition of a Spaniard in order to play for them. He's been very vocal in the past about how Spain was the country that gave him everything good in his life. I can see why he'd pick them over the country that is currently trying to revoke his passport just because he made a choice that he was legally entitled to make.

It's madness. Brazil lack a clear CF and he is that guy, why would he not want to represent his country?

fair enough if he had no chance of a look in but he would clearly walk into a team that is play Jo up front rotating with Fred.

Nothing clear about it. He was never really rated by their management and probably wouldn't have played anyway.

Bit late to the midfield discussion but here goes.....

I don't see a signing there anytime soon and i don't think we need one. We've got 4 good players for 2 spots and its also likely that Chamberlain will get games in midfield. Don't see what the problem is really. Arteta-Ramsey is good for the moment and we can be fairly certain the plan is a Ramsey-Wilshere combo. Flamini is fine as 4th choice who can be trusted and played when needed.

The only slight question mark is what our best partnership is when Ramsey is missing. Not a fan of Wilshere and Arteta together but maybe go with that in easier games and bring Flamini in for tougher opposition. Flamini-Arteta would probably work a lot better when we have a proper wide player in the side.

That'll be Ramsey's insane endurance. It really is amazing how hard he's still running at the end of matches.

Been a kind international break so far (touches wood). Looks like Ozil will be completely rested and won't play against England, Mertesacker will have had almost 2 weeks off if he plays that match. Ramsey will play today and have a week off, I believe Jack won't play against Germany so will have the week off and don't know if Gibbs will play any part. Koscienly misses next game, Sagna on the bench in last game but Giroud will have to play again next week and his fitness is a bit of a worry. The Spanish boys might come back a bit jet lagged though and I believe Vermaelen missed the game for Belgium. Rosicky I believe played yesterday so will have the next week off as well.

With rumours of Theo being fit and Podolski & Ox not being far behind should have a much stronger and squad going into the Winter period.
