It's also symptomatic of how he was holding us back.
He was injured so often at that stage, even when he was on the pitch he was often playing with a niggle. A bit like Ramsey, except with Cesc we'd actually built the whole team around him, so when he wasn't able to perform, we had nothing else to offer.
