He gets so much undeserved grief from people. Honestly one of the most likeable players in the squad for me. Always trying and always positive in everything he does. Sometimes things don't come off for him but he never hides. His overall game is there, just needs to impr9ve his efficiency in the final third. But he's still very young, I'm sure with time he'll pick up the goals and assists. Remember even Fabregas and Ramsey took time to find their boots when they were young but once they started scoring they never looked back.

like so many of youngsters he plays with the handbrake alot of the time, and defers to senior players. when he came on against chelsea in attack mode with the express purpose of wrecking shit sans handbrake, he looked good

I actually think he tries to take on a lot of responsibility. Just doesn't always come off but he's definitely trying ti make things happen a lot of the time and is not a sideways passing merchant like some of our other players.

Think it's a combination of things. It's hard to describe Iwobi generally because he's changing from season to season. I think Wenger encouraged him to lift the handbrake (but Iwobi wasn't quite good enough to do it at the time) whereas Emery pushes Kolasinac ahead on that flank instead. Maybe next season we can get a combination. I think he's ready for more responsibility now. We talk about wanting dribblers and players who can find unexpected solutions, and Iwobi is one of few Arsenal players I'd fancy going up against a good defence. Bloke beats his man for fun.

I'm hard on Iwobi for his lack of end product, but I agree with everything you say. Also, surprised to see other posters think he plays with the handbrake on...I don't see that all as he's always driving us forward, showing for the ball, etc.

Make or break season next year for him.

It's amazing how static we became in Wenger's last few years. There are some bang average footballers in that video but each and every player is constantly moving and providing a passing option and angle.

It's hard to score such goals every week unless you have talent and depth like City does but we were a mobile side, leave aside that clip. In 10/11 we had a thread in the other place on if we were going to score a 100 goals in the League when Van Persie, Nasri and Fabregas started on fire but unfortunately neither could stay fit and RVP and Cesc only played 19 gashes together that season.
