I'm far more worried that we can't impose our football even against poor teams. Goals will come if we do that.
We deffo need a striker, but there's every risk that with just one striker as our summer addition and the same team we had this season we'll just go back to a better version of that Van Persie led team.
What is our football? It feels like we really don't have an identity anymore.
Since Cesc left, we've been flailing quite a lot. And even back then, our play as so reliant on one person's unique abilities. I would say the first six months of this season was somewhat encouraging because we at least seemed to have a strong tactical approach, took the few chances we made and defended well aside from the Man City game.
Commentators, pundits and fans still talk about this team as a strong passing, attacking team. But are we really? Most of our passes seem to be between our CBs, Sagna and Arteta. Back and forth, back and forth. We're supposed to have great strength in midfield, and yet we struggle to move the ball forward from there. On top of that, Özil's actual influence on the pitch has been minimal relative to his talent level.
