haha yep, really, its true!

i loved his style of play, i loved a lot of his personality and how odd he was..and i loved how he wasnt afraid to try to perform the wild creative ideas immediately after it occurred to his mind..instead of simply doing and repeating things and schemes learned during years of training like most footballers do..

i liked him and wanted him at arsenal even before THAT euro..and when we got him, i wouldnt change him with anyone in the world

expectations considered, his spell was a failure, but hell not in terms of actual contribution imho..his first 1,5 season was fantastic, the season after still very good (shitloads of goals and assists) ..and i really enjoyed him here, and he is connected with some of my absolutely favorite football moments i witnessed (barcelona, liverpool, russia-holland)

I shall retain fond memories of the little scamp, even if ultimately, he wasn't much of a success. Similar to Reyes.

Arshavin was a world class player, if only sporadically. His vision was as good as Bergkamp's.

I dont think his form was as bad as it was made out to be. IMO he really busted a gut in that 7-5 Reading game and he could have done the same in many other matches also. I think he was simply frozen because of his lazy attitude in general.

I thought it was more to do with his body rather than his mind. Might have been mentioned somewhere, but I blame Wenger in not utilizing him correctly.

Would have actually thrived in advanced midfield or as a supporting striker more than on the wings. Shame he was competing with Fabregas at his peak in that position though. 😐

Love Ramsey. Favorite player right now. Definite starter for me next season.

The improvement he's shown is astounding. I used to hate him playing for us, and rightly so given the performance he was serving up- they were denilsonesque. But he's really upped it physically, has found a suitable position and has cut out the naivety in his play.

Really important all action midfielder for us now. Perfect fit for our three

You can't fault his workrate but he still lacks quality for me. Especially when he needs to be decisive. He looked much better when he started to play it simple last season though instead of those infuriating flicks he used to try (and fail with).

He got the basics right in the second half of last season. Now he has to take the next step and start adding numbers. Realistic target - 5+ goals, ₁₀ assists? Would that satisfy us?

Wilshere is the one who has to do what Ramsey did last season - shake off the injury, get sharp again and settle on a position.

He has to prove that his run at the end of last season was more than just a hot streak. He was atrocious for most of the year, but it was very encouraging to see the way he eventually improved.

Even when he was at his worst he was so different from that piece of crap. You'd never catch him denilsoning - always 100% effort &dedication.

depends what role he's playing, no? If he's playing deep, you wouldn't judge him by the numbers (at least these numbers), just like you wouldn't expect Art to get such numbers, and still everyone's more than happy with him.

a bit overstating it, no? he was really bad at the start, mainly when he was asked to play on the wing. The second half of the year he was just getting better and better.
Agree he has to show it's more than a hot streak, but I never really doubted he'll get there to begin with. As long as he's not asked to be a striker or something.

Well, it was a sliding scale - he didn't become excellent overnight, and was only really much of an asset for the final couple of months. He was basically terrible until the end of January, and got slowly & steadily better from there.

And whilst I definitely think he played well at the end of the year, and think he definitely can be an asset in the future as well, I think his level is now being massively over-exaggerated. He's got a lot of room to improve, and plenty of potential to do so.
