Can't remember in detail but I read an article recently that said Barca and Madrid have managed to hold onto some sort of publically owned status (along with two other clubs) that effectively halves their tax bill. I'll see if I can find the article after the match.

With Liverpool talking publicly about Suarez almost everyday, even when there is no need to, the feeling i get is that we will end up with him eventually.

I'm finding it difficult to read what's going on.
If you take what Liverpool say at face value then we should just pack it in, but Wenger didn't shoot this down completely, so that's left just enough doubt in my mind to question Liverpool's stance and wonder if there's still a twist here

la liga is a joke. madrid and barca probably owe the taxpayers what, 1b euros? there's nothing worse than corrupt governance, and the US is just as guilty of it.

I understand them shooting it down emphatically once after our bids. I can understand the response later to the Suarez interview.

What i can't understand is the need to shoot it down emphatically again and again, sometimes unprovoked.

A couple of links appeared today with Muriel of Udinese.

I think Suarez will be an Arsenal player if they find a decent replacement. Atletico confirmed the bid didn't they for Costa?

Suarez has been training alone, he sat out today's friendly against Celtic which they lost anyways. He is available, might take an increased bid and/ or them signing a replacement.

i'm 50/50 now. liverpool are probably just grandstanding, but you never know. if we bid £50 mill, i'm sure they'd sell. thing is, i don't think we'll bid more than ca. 45 mill. could come down to the wire this one.

I think Rodgers ruled Costa out at his press conference yesterday.
They will struggle to convince the very best to join them.
I read an article the other day quoting Joe Cole, saying that he was given a script to read at his public unveiling as a Liverpool player, obliging him to mention that they were a big club steeped in tradition (or something along those lines).
Seemingly he was dead against having to read that out.
And Joe Cole is hardly someone who ranks among the very best these days.

There is a lot of posturing but J. Henry their owner will look like a fool if they end of selling him considering how outspoken and adamant he has been. I still think he will be at Arsenal come the end of the window.

The reason they are keeping such a disgruntled player in their squad is because they can't find any sort of replacement for him. Has top strikers been this short in world football before?

There's loads of top strikers, as many or more than ever. Only seems like less because they are spread out over a much larger number of top clubs.
