Tevez was the catalyst in for Man City's title win. His comeback was vital to sparking the late run that won them the league. He'd have been available for less than half the price we're willing to pay for Suarez (went for about a quarter) - I'd put him behind Suarez in the pecking order, but, he is not at a completely inferior level. He's a better player than Higuain in any case.

At least, give it some time after the tough-speak before you try and reconcile. Especially, when the player can not play till mid-September.

But, they are speaking about him giving 100% once he realizes he can't leave. I think, they are very very serious about keeping him against his wishes.
