But we havent actually made any noise per say. We had only bid, if Liverpool would have quitely rejected it I dont think we would've ever known.

Its crazy we actually bidding 40 million, but it doesnt mean anything until we actually see an outlay of that amount of money on one player.

Would really signify change in strategy and mindset. But until then its Talks of money are just those..Talks.

If reports are to be believed, we bid £30m and then followed that up with a bid of £40m; in what world is that being tight, embarrassing or whatever else negative light fans/media/Liverpool want to spin?

The Liverpool supporting hacks are certainly earning their freebies so far.

Go back to the start of the window, or even 6 weeks ago, and most Liverpool fans were saying that if he has to go they want £35-40m for him.

The fact that Liverpool keep blabbing about our bids, both in public and briefing journos, says one thing; they know they have to sell him. Rogers has even mentioned a specific price when he compared Suarez to Cavani.

I respect how much Liverpool wants to hold on to their best player as opposed to how we always surrender in these situations, but they surely would think that selling now would enable them to rebuild much earlier, given that they are struggling to fund all their targets currently.

Liverpool will eventually sell for our next bid probably for 44-46 million. plus add ons.

I am sure we have had multiple discussions with Suarez camp.

I also think Higuain was not a priority for us. We inquired and thats it, never made a bid. The Bids story came from Marca.

It make sense, if you remember what Perez said. That guy is always very open with transfer, like now with Bale and Napoli's interest in Higuain.

They're supporting Liverpool because they're the ones feeding the news to them. If there's a source feeding you information, you try to be on their good side so they don't stop.

But, I totally agree with your general point. If this transfer goes through, it would be the second most expensive transfer in the history of English football. There is no bloody way this is derisive at any levels.

Answer the question.

If Suarez has a release clause (buy it now in my ebay analogy), do you bid the minimum amount that you need? Or do you needlessly waste money by offering a couple of million extra so as not to upset the selling club?
