You have to judge every case on it's merits, of course.
It's just important not to underestimate the enormity of the step-up required to move from youth / reserve level to Premiership / European level and maintain effectiveness.
I don't think anyone here underestimates the enormity of making that step up, mate. We've surely become damn good judges over the years of who has a chance of making it and who hasn't. God knows we've seen enough talents try and fail over the years to know what it takes.
At this point I'd bet decent money on Gnabry and Akpom playing football for the German and England senior teams. Wouldn't go that far with any of the others we have, but those two are very, very good.
