Heard a lot of good things about this guy and it's easy to see why. Definitely looks like one to keep an eye on.

back in jan 2008 when wenger said we had two technically perfect under 14's, i was convinced then and still am now that alban was one of them.

commonly accepted by who? names were just tossed around based on who looked technically gifted. i've seen chuks, alban, the united fan what's his face, etc. i even saw afobe mentioned before but having seen him play i wouldn't classify him as such. yennaris is comfortable in defense and midfield, so he's versatile ... don't know if that's grounds for technical perfection. i have no proof that alban is one, i just feel that way watching him play.

and alban just seemed like the right age for when wenger made the comment, 13 going on 14.

I don't know. The were the ones who most people agreed would fit the statement at the time, I suppose. I never saw them when they were that young. It doesn't seem like too big a stretch bearing in mind how they've played on reserve level though.

maybe i'm just misunderstanding when wenger said under 14, but chuks and nico were 14 going on 15 a few months from that wenger statement. where as alban was 13 going on 14.

and this part of the same statement lead me to believe he was in fact talking about 13 year olds: "Sometimes you see a player at 13 and you think 'absolutely amazing' then two years later he has disappeared."

When you said "i was convinced then" I assumed you meant you had access to the U14s.

no there were reports online about a young bosnian who's family moved to england when he was young due to the war before wenger even made that statement and how he was the bees knees. so when wenger said that, he jumped to the front of my mind and i haven't seen anything since to convince me isn't one of the two.

I like Alban and have been impressed by him for a while now, but I'm not sure he has first team potential. Reminds me of Barazite in alot of ways.

I think he was born in Romford btw, but I could be wrong.

Whether or not Wenger was talking about Aneke when he mentioned the "technically perfect" kids, I don't know, but that boy has the sort of technique you dream about in a player.

Hmmm not overly convinced, granted its just a clip, but not sure he'd replicate anything close to that at first team level

Aneke is a lot better than JET was at 17 if you ask me. But it's hard to tell with players at that age.

At 17 I was convinced Lansbury was going to be a star for us, and while he still has first team potential, I don't think he'll ever reach the level I thought he would.

yeah when lansbury had his long hair and real madrid player hairband thing at the u17 euros i thought he was going to be the bees knees. then he went and fucked around with some nasty bitches and got sick.
