It's clear they know what the fans think form their announcement which tries to make it very clear how much "Mr Kroenke" cares and wants to win trophies. Did seem a bit odd for a signing announcement.

The mad thing is that Gazidis wasn't lying when he said new tools were available to Wenger, madder still that Wenger accepted that a player was worthy of that kind of money

Gazidis and those before him have never lied, when you take 27 players off your wage bill and you don't really notice it on the feild as well as free up 500k in wages, what it shows is that money has always been available but Wenger chose to spend it on cheap transfers and WAGES.

500k in wages is 25 million a year in addition when all you get for 27 players is 7m it means you've lost all the money you had spent in transfer feesfor those 27 players. and yeah I know most are kids.

I'll say it again the Emirates move was profitable from day 1

according to this maybe the pundit was wrong (or maybe he said 17) or maybe there are academy players included in that, point anyway is we've taken 500k off the wage bill and the most useful of the players on that list was Gervinho and he wasn't all that useful. These were the players that stopped us giving RVP 200k.

Find it very cringeworthy they used one of the best moments of the club in recent years to try and salvage their relationship with the fans. Just fuck off, I want to listen the truth about Ozil. Who cares about Kroenke and Gazidis. As long as you keep on buying good players we will appreciate you when time comes.

Is that the part of the Özil statement you guys are complaining about, or was there something else?

Because that seems like a fairly modest response on Kroenke's behalf to a summer of unstinting criticism of everyone from him on down. It only came up after a few other statements regarding our footballing aspirations.

Like it or not Wenger has had relatively absolute control over transfers up to a certain limit. I'm convinced he could've pulled the trigger on a £30-40m signing last summer had he chosen to do so.

As far as I understand it Kroenke's taking a back seat, Gazidis is doing his job and if there's a blocker to further spending with our immediate incremental improvement in mind, it's Wenger and always has been.

Liverpool must really have not been open to selling....imagine we valued Suarez as high or higher than Ozil.

Burnwinter, I think it's just weird there are any kind of statement involving owners or CEO or whatever backroom staff other than the manager in a transfer unveiling. We really don't need to know that. We can judge for ourselves

I don't see what is wrong with the statement myself.

This is the 11th biggest transfer in football, the 2nd biggest in England and Arsenal are involved. The club have gone on about "escalation of financial power" and "new financial tools" this summer.

It is a big deal for the club, a great piece of business. I don't see what is wrong with the CEO and the owner who are often derided for being too muted to be part of this statement.

I want to believe that the pressure from match-going fans, contributed to this change in policy.

Sure, we can, but the remarks were probably directed at a lot of fairly public speculation by our fans, rival fans, pundits and the print media about whether Kroenke was the blocker.

I don't think there's anything particularly ungracious about him asking that it be declared that he's open to investment - given that the claim comes at the same time as he proves it by allowing a top ten all time transfer fee to be paid.

It's far preferable that it comes now than that he'd issued some unsupported defensive statement a few months back.

Unreal.
If we're seriously no longer stockpiling cash or obliged to sell players we are going to be a force again.
