We had a great chance in 2011 too until the Carling Cup final, then winnng just 2 of our last 11 games. We were 3-1 up against Tottenham which would have taken us 3 points behind United with 5 games to go, instead we draw 3-3 and ended up finishing 4th, 12 points adrift. People talk about chances missed this season but United won the league with just 80 fucking points that year.

Fuck, that has the be the most sickening out of the last 9 years.

The cylces since we last won the FA Cup are quite evident to see. Lose players/rebuild for two years, challenge in the third year then repeat. When we challenge we normally say we're lacking one or two players, just like this season.

However, I do think we're breaking the cycle this year in so much as I don't think we'll lose anyone and we probably will sign one or two. That, and we'll probably win the FA Cup too. With that in mind, we'll win the league next year. It's been proven.

2011 team has too many pussy, especially Nasri. In those 11 games, we were poor as hell. We don't deserve anything.

For me 2008, leading by 5 points with the chance to go 8 clear at Brum was 100 times worse. And then we go into a sequence of 4 or 5 consecutive home draws. Every fucking time United dropped points we dropped as well. Not to mention that side was top notch, and that we were also robbed in the champions league.

Sagna, Podolski, Fabianski and Vermalean may all be out, and Arteta, Rosicky and Walcott may be on the decline.

We need a few strong signings this summer to have a chance at competing next season.

Sagna is the only important player who's leaving, and he's a full back. Its not like losing your best mid or your number 1 striker. Rosicky has been a fringe player since 2008 and is probably at his best since that season too, hardly in decline. Theo is injury prone but thats no change. Arteta needs a replacement I agree. Not a huge amount of change though.

I'd agree with all of that Qs, but if we're short squad wise this year then losing players isn't going to put us in a better position regardless of their age, position, quality, etc....

We challenged for the title this year (sort of) largely on Ramsey's early season heroics. Our form over the last few months indicates our squad isn't good enough.
