We needed more creativity. We struggled last year as it was and Santi has had a pretty poor year. Think we needed a top creative player and a top striker and we didn't get it all done in one summer.

It's exactly what Wenger and the board will think when it comes to the summer transfer window - that they finally spent 40 million+ on a player and still finished in the usual 4th place anyway.

No. As much because of the morale boost he gave us as his impact on the pitch. And his impact on the pitch in the first half of the season wouldn't have been easily replaced with our current squad options.

He had some dreams at the beginning of the season, now it's hard to believe that Giroud could be part of any dream scenario but hey even on here people thought Özil might assist him to the Golden Boot.
