I really, really don't get what you guys are on about that are saying that is a good tackle. Rose is unbelievably lucky that his leg is in the air and not planted on the ground. If he has his leg planted on the ground there, which Flamini has no way at all of determining when he flies in, the force of that tackle is such that serious damage looks inevitable. It is the very definition of a reckless and dangerous tackle. Whether the tackling player gets the ball or not, which Flamini clearly does, is utterly irrelevant.

No other team in the PL has lost as many players to contact injuries as Arsenal in the last decade, and it is not even close. Don't fucking cry and show outrage when it happens to our players then.

That tackle looks better than it is because of the angle.

It's reckless. I hate that players are being portrayed as being 'hard', because they throw themselves into tackles like that. It's nonsense.

Sagna and Koscielny are hard tacklers, yet they're not afraid to get hurt themselves and do it in a much cleaner way, without the risk of getting sent off.

I think it is.
The build up's been remarkably low key given what is at stake, or so it seems to me.
Good.
It being Wenger's 1000th game in charge has taken some of the heat off as well.

I must admit, when Flamini goes in hard like that, such as on Rose or that tackle on Nani a few years ago, I feel an immense amount of satisfaction rather than rage.

But, the context of the tackle is irrelevant, it's either dangerous or it's not. If Shawcross went in on Ramsey like that, can you imagine the reaction on here? Neither you or Qs would be saying it's a great tackle, mans game etc.

That being said, football is full of hypocrisy, myself included. So whatever.

Funnily our match against them at the Bridge in 2008 was similar in importance. Sagna scores with a header, gets injured and is substituted post which Chelsea score two.

Then we lost to United because of a Gallas handball a week or two later to eventually finish 4 points off United and 2 off Chelsea.

These back to back games against Chelsea and City remind of the that run-in. Hope the result is different this time around.

Funny though, I remember going into those games feeling like the season was already over, certainly the United game.

Ye definitely the United game. Song was at centre half for that one i think and injuries had fucked us over. We went into the Chelsea game with lots to play for though from what i can remember.

The Man Utd league game was directly after we got knocked out of the CL by Liverpool so we were totally deflated.

That Liverpool CL away game that year really was the final nail in the coffin.

Anyway, I echo Y's words, surprised with the lack of hype surrounding our game tomorrow. People really expect nothing from this game from us, including media and our own fans?

Trust me if we win this game and beat Swansea the hype for the Man City game will be like nothing youve seen before.
