Not at all, he makes it look easy - albeit with access to plenty of financial resources. But he's also established a pattern over the years.

I would genuinely be interested to see if he can stick with Chelsea for more than 5 years and try to manage a transition from one title winning team to another.

It's a good test I agree but also being proven in a number of different teams and leagues is equally impressive in my opinion.

I think his greatest achievement is winning the CL with Inter, just look at their European record before and after.

Jeez, you could be forgiven for thinking sometimes that some posters on here would prefer to see Mourinho rather than Wenger win the league this season.

Because he's not the type who builds a team and stays with it. He's a class short term manager, like Ancelotti. He's not one for the longer perspective though. He's the guy you hire when you already have the money and most of the players.

I don't hate Mourinho at all.
I wouldn't dismiss what he has achieved either.
I do think it's worth noting that his stint in Spain left a mark on him and exposed his weaknesses as a manager.
I hope too that his second coming at Chelsea ends in failure.

Believe it or not I hope his second tenure ends in failure too. But it would mean Wenger giving prob his best mangerial performance in 10 years if he still has it in him.

There's nothing wrong with the way Mourinho operates but it's obvious that he really wanted the United job!

The only way that can be justified is if it benefits the team, at the moment I can't see how that's the case, but we'll see.

I would have put Oscar ahead of Mata too, to be fair. It's a bit ridiculous that he doesn't even get into the team though.

Plenty of people hate Ferguson, probably to a far greater extent than Mourinho. Yet you'll find no one that questions his ability.

Winning the league with Chelsea and Real were bare minimums and I don't consider either of those spells particularly impressive. Inter was impressive but I'd have liked to have seen him stay longer and maintain that level of success. He's obviously a top level manager but not the genius he's painted as, or used to be painted as.

That's why I don't buy the 'proven all over Europe' line. It's far harder to maintain a high level of success at one club, through the ups and downs and the transition periods. It's why I'm surprised he came back to Chelsea, unlike his previous jobs it's actually a big challenge.

I think Mourinho deserves a lot of credit for choking a few trophies out against that Barcelona in Spain and in Europe, despite the riches at his disposal.

He's held to a very high standard which explains why being at or near the top of the league is considered a shaky start.

I would love us to finish ahead of his Chelsea this season.
