Yes, he was very good. Has never really come back strongly since that long layoff with tendonitis or whatever it was.

True. He had a bright season though - ZM was fairly qualified overall.

Mata barely makes Spain squad as it is. Beyond his goals and assists his all round play isn't upto the level of Fabregas or Cazorla IMO. Cesc is on course for 100 caps by sometime next year or 2015 which given their midfield and his age which will be 27 is astounding.

Agree with this, Cazorla is better than him, overrated imo.

Mata is a brilliant player. Arguably he may not be as pleasing on the eye with his general play than some of the other Spanish midfield maestros, but he produces the goods, scores goals and wins matches. Surprised you aren't all over that Biggus..
