I don't know, maybe Alf is right. After all, Mourinho didn't even start a striker

Atkinson is a horrible and cowardly ref. How can he stand 5 meters away, and look straight at it, and not give Man U a penalty for Lampard's hand ball?

Cos it was ball to hand.

You'd have to be happy with that result Y, keeps us only a point behind them.

Like it makes a difference to us?

On the contrary.....
Look- We all know whats going to happen, some admit it some don't, it doesn't matter it will happen anyway.
And I'm watching it all with detached amusement.

After only two rounds of the season, you're carrying on like a sizzling pork chop about how our points total doesn't matter. There's nothing dry or detached about it …

And we're level on points with City 😉
Try not to get excited about that Biggus 😆
And Spurs and Pool are 3 ahead, crisis.
Oh and Chelsea are actually 4 points away, we're doomed

Our points total doesn't matter, no ones really do- The season has only started theres 9 months of twists and turns to go.
I just watch the games, if we win I'm happy if we lose I moan- like everyone else.
But unlike everyone else I'm under no illusions.

And GM wanted Pellegrini here!
He's hopeless he's worse than Wenger. 😆

now, now, now no one said our points total doesn't matter. There's a difference between being concerned about things that matter to us and things that don't. We should be more concerned with Liverpool and Spurs thanwith Chelsea/manu results. Whatever points Chelsea or Manu gain or drop WILL HAVE NO BEARING on the eventual outcome of our season, it's the height of self delusion to think we are in a race with Chelsea or Manu. The only people that should be concerned with Chelsea/Manu results are City fans.

😆
I will remain concerned about Chelsea and United dropping points.
Mainly because I can't stand United or Mourinho.
I'll be happy to City drop points too, just because.

Lagos we finished three places above Chelsea just 14 months ago …

That's like taking an interest in the life of a man who doesn't even know you exist

....and we carry on calling Liverpool deluded for referring to us as competitors?

Burnwinter wrote:

we all know that was an aberration....

With 36 league games left from which to derive enjoyment, I'd rather base my view on the hard fact of an aberration that nevertheless happened, than this overimaginative Arsenihilism …

You'd be surprised how much enjoyment you can derive when you eliminate false hope!

Did I anywhere say I thought we were contenders for the title?
No I didn't , nor do I think we are 🙂
If I want to watch United v Chelsea and for my amusement hope both drop points I really don't see why that's a big deal.
I can handle it 🙂

A bit like supporting Arsenal nowadays then.

Tbf they do thank us for taking an interest in their affairs.

no one said anything about not watching the match, I watched it (well I had it on) it's the (IMHO) misplaced interest in the outcome. I really don't understand the amusement either, these clubs will drop points all the time, but they still finish above us. If I am poor and a rich man is less rich than he was, how does rejoicing in his misfortune affect me putting food on my table?

I suspect despite what you say that deep down you harbor a hope that these clubs will drop points such that we sneak into contention through the backdoor. Well that's not going to happen, there are 3 clubs in it, if by some miracle 2 slip up the 3rd won't.

Can we just take it that you haven't a clue how my mind works Lagos, what amuses me does not amuse you 🙂
I don't harbour the illusion of us winning PL this year.
What you suspect is more a reflection of you than me 🙂

Bloody hell Lagos, about 80% of your posts seem to largely consist of questioning why anyone cares about something you don't care about 😆

according to Wenger I have been brainwashed 😆

😆 To be fair I think the last few years have been more like one of those electroshock conditioning things.

Get your hopes up … ZAARRT!
Get your hopes up … ZZAARRRTT!

Who are we going for in Liverpool/Utd?

I'd take a draw with a hamstring injury to RVP to keep him out until the new year.

A draw would be good but if there has to be a winner then United.

You love your Manc's don't you Tony?

Kolo to kick him on the achilles?

Biggus wrote:

No, but I don't want Liverpool marching ahead of us so soon.

3 wins out of 3 it will be.

As Y found out mercilessly to her cost it's a bit early to start earnestly calculating, you said yourself you wait till 10 games to see how things stand.

Yeah sure but I don't want Liverpool standing well come the ten games.

Secondly, if it doesn't matter who wins, why did you ask who we wanted to win between Liverpool and Utd?

Draw, or united to win.

Lots of injuries and red cards.

Draw I think, can't bear watching United win but don't want Liverpool to get three points either.
