Agreed with QS on Chelsea. We had this convo on here in the summer but they don't have any huge quality outside of the attacking midfield spots. Couldn't believe Mourinho didn't buy a centre back or midfielder in the window.

Definitely. He's so difficult to keep quiet and I'm not looking forward to the prospect of him charging at our defenders next week. I can only hope that Liverpool should be more worried about the prospect of our technical creative hub buzzing around their area.

i don't think folks are appreciative of the quality around us, and the fact that we have had a much easier schedule. we should all pray for a Chelsea - City draw. if Chelsea win, we could easily find ourselves in 3rd by the end of next weekend

We have to be prepared and ready to respond to the possibility that we drop out of first in the next few weeks.

We're about to enter one of the most difficult spells of this campaign. Recovery will be possible afterward if we hold it together.

i do wonder if a spell in second would be good in the long run. if we just stay in 1st but aren't running away with it, i wonder if the pressure will build once the pundits start calling us favorites.

as for the Chelsea haters, i wonder if they have watched Mourinho's men in the past month. they have been awesome. they have a bunch of guys around Oscar who can swell the net.

We have had an easy start to the season and it's fair to say that we haven't done anything special with regards to results so far but it would be silly to ignore the fact that hanging in as we've done with neither Walcott or Cazorla being hugely significant factors is pretty damn admirable. It remains to be seen how high our heights will be but we theoretically still have a number of gears to go through.

There isn't a single team in the league that has missed any player the caliber of either Cazorla or Walcott due to injury nevermind both of them at the same time. Injuries happen but what has happened really is not a normal situation.

Edit: Also, having Walcott and Cazorla (and Podolski and Chamberlain) out injured at the same time is considerably more harmful than having Wilshere and Ramsey out in my opinion and it's not even close. Cazorla's quality speaks for itself but also just because the squad is robust doesn't mean that Walcott (or Podolski or Chamberlain) isn't hugely important to how we play.

It's pretty abundantly clear that having even just Ramsey out for the period Theo and Cazorla have been out would've been a bad miss.

Having both Theo and Podolski out is a problem because the available squad's quite unbalanced.
