He has one year on his contract and Wenger made some interesting comments on him. After their final match according to @LeFrenchGooner he is quoted as saying "I know Arsenal are after me. But there's nothing at the moment. My decision is personal. I just want to enjoy tonight.". French commentators were saying Grimandi was at the stadium today to watch the final game of the French season where he scored a peach of a freekick.

Lyon Aulas said after the match "We can't close the door, Arsenal are a big club. Grenier told me he'll stay if we're in the CL." Also quoted as saying he is worth 37mil Euros!

Any French football watchers here? What do you guys think of him

From the transfer rumours thread

Skimmed through the Grenier thread on an OL forum.
He's not worshipped that's for sure (remember reading the Kos thread on a Lorient forum before we signed him and they loved him).
From the bits and pieces that I read: he's technically gifted, shows flashes of genius, can pull the strings in midfield or can go missing.
He seems injury prone and not exactly what you'd call robust.
He's certainly not at the level of development or maturity where we could count on him to significantly improve our midfield.
A gamble, a project.
Most worryingly the player he was most often compared to was Gourcuff

Here's the goal

I think there might be something in this. Timbo says he's similar to Platini and Zidane. High praise.

As a non French football watcher who knows nought about him, but recently burnt by Gervinho and Giroud, i would like to ignorantly but politely say
"je ne want him or any of his mates pas!"

He is like Platini and Zidane...when he's having a BAD game.

He will be same or better than Zidane according to Tim and Pepe.

Better. Definitely better.

He can do a fat one. Shit.

😆

Its a no thank you from me too.

  1. He's useless, sell him ASAP
  2. His stats aren't bad, the two free kicks he scored were spectacular, but his influence on games is the very minimum required/expected

Smells like Nasri mk2.

we've wrapped up the new diaby, might as well wrap up the new nasri while we're at it

Here we go again... enough with these average shits

The only thing we can hope for is that he turns into someone who keep scoring long range shots and freekicks ala Bale. If he can be like Juninho, decent on the ball, okay in creating but keep scoring screamers I am fine.

Anyway let's just hope he is here to replace Arshavin's position in the squad and not some marquee signing. Thinking about it we don't have special young players in the squad anymore.

Its just a rumour, calm down.
