Seems that we have signed Sanogo from Auxerre. "Advanced" is the word straight from Wenger.
Yaya Sanogo
There was us thinking its a sanogo
Welcome to Arsenal FC
Here's our man. Remember him being linked in January and a similar video posted.
He any good?
Chamakhs replacement.
Sanogo on a free, or Zaha for 15m.

Who cares he's for free!

Doubt anyone watches Ligue 2 but his goal record is impressive for a young player.
Only seem him a handful of times but he looks ok
20 years old, playing in Ligue 2, only 22 senior appearances and 9 goals. I'm not overly excited.
The hardest players to find are these young lads that can play back to goal. They get cleaned out often at youth level. And a lot of the lads you find that can play back to goal have bad injury records.

Wow. I didn't know that. But i agree, playing with back to goal is a disappearing art.

This video works if you click through to youtube (fucking scroungers).

Just read a reports hes had a double leg break and missed large chunks of 2 seasons as a result. So he is another one that's been through the mill. To maintain his goal scoring record though his recovery is impressive.
New thread.
Lazy bums.
Julien Laurens β@LaurensJulien 16m
I have been following Sanogo since he was 15. Always tipped as next big thing in France and rightly so. So talented, powerful and clever 1/2
Julien Laurens β@LaurensJulien 11m
Big injuries slowed him down but has great potential. Only 20 and free. Scored 4 vs Laval and 3 vs Tours this season

I thought the left winger looked good too!
Never seen him play, he's awesome on FM though
The only thing I know about him is that he's big, which is good.

Wasn't Julien Laurens the guy saying we'd sign about four players in one window, and we didn't sign any?
At any rate, I like his strike rate this season.

He was the guy who swore on his life we'd already signed M'Vila last summer.
He looks a right handful in that youtube clip. Maybe an Adebayor that can stay onside?
How quick is he?
If so has a bit of pace then he's perfect physically.
He does look like Ade before a bit of muscle goes on. If he can stay fit surely he's a good investment at least, but I'm assuming he's not all we're going for.

This is old news, no? I heard about us being in serious talks with Sanogo a few weeks ago - things must be close to being finalized.
Good signing on a free. Nothing to lose.
If Diaby leaves he will at least make sure we get our moneys worth from the medical team as well!
I hope he isn't going to continue his crocky ways. Totally fucking over having hapless crocks on the fringes of the first XI.
This better not be another bargain bin buy. Although, he was suppose to be a big talent before his injury.
That music on the video captain posted is terrible. Seems to be acrobatic, I don't suppose we'll see him getting minutes for us in the league for at least the next two years.
Mixed feelings about this one, mainly due to his injuries.
But from having a quick read it is clear he has bags of potential. Hopefully our coaches can harness it here, and with a bit of luck he can make a decent impact. For a free it appears worth the punt.
Looks a potential great option to have as 3rd choice CF.
Jovetic, Giroud, Sanogo?
Its not bad - could and probably should be better for a team of our supposed ambitions but I can live with it. It's certainly better than just Giroud!
Yaya Sanogo > Yaya Toure

Thanks for posting that
From the mirror article:
Sanogo is an impressive physical specimen, with his size and imposing strength he also brings speed and an electric quickness that can terrify defenders. Still to fully develop he is already very athletic, similar to Aston Villaβs Christian Benteke.
The warning signs are clear to see, in three years he only managed seven starts in Ligue 1.
However the positives are also as clear, when fit this season he has scored nine goals in seven starts.
Physical striker with goalscoring potential, and an awful injury record...
Seems like an excellent signing and prospect though, so long as he's 3rd choice, we still have to sign a starting striker.
This must surely spell the end of the line for Chamakh.
Seems fitting that we should replace him with someone else on a free.
Not much else to say on this apart from wondering if this means we're not going to sign any other striker.
He'd better not be a wreck of injuries.

Says he's like some kind of Giroud, Henry, Benteke, Sagna and Diaby mash up.

Lol.
That's our strikers position sorted for next season then. Hopefully we'll have more exciting signings in other areas.
