It's fun you look at the photos of the incident and none of the players seem overly concerned about it. I suspect the issue goes far beyond this single incident. Mancini has probably had more public episodes with his countryman Balotelli than has with Tevez. There could be other private matters at work.

They'll say they didn't hear the conversation because of the noise in the stadium or something, and feign ignorance.

The City coaching crew are backing Mancini's claim, and they wouldn't all suddenly turn against Tevez just for the fun of it.

he looks like a little kid in goal, in fact he looks like my 14 year old cousin. I can see him being an Almunia in that he is good shot stopper but will most likely never dominate the box.

Doesn't look like a great in the making to me at all. Looks like a gormless little pussy. Can't see him ever having the personality or confidence of a top goalkeeper.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm not going to pretend to know where De Gea will end up eventually, but to me he looks like another Tim Howard or Brad Friedel. Both are talented keepers who couldn't cope with the top level and spent most of their career playing for second or third tier clubs instead. He's not a complete mess like Paul Robinson or Robert Green but he's not brilliant either. I think Ferguson wanted someone like Szczesny badly this summer, but De Gea is not that player at the moment.

Hey, I might be completely wrong, but he looks a mess to me. Still has so much to learn, in terms of organising his defence and commanding his box he literally does not have a clue, he's conceded some awful goals too, and has never looked anything but timid and like a big wuss to me. Szczesny still has things to learn and improve on, but I look at the two and there's just no comparison. Night and day difference even though they're the same age.

De Gea seems to have decent enough technique and understanding of the game, but he's poor in the air and he has some weird weakness on low shots. Both are things you can fix with a lot of training though. I'm sure United's goalkeeping coach is working on it at the moment. I don't expect him to make the same mistakes after a couple of years in England. What makes me think that he won't make it is that he looks like a wuss, as you put it. Think the Almunia reference is spot on. Al is a pretty able keeper too on his day (people seem to forget this an awful lot because they can't stand the sight of him nowadays) but he's not cut out for top level. He loses confidence easily and can't cope with the pressure of a top club. I think his stock would have been higher at the moment if he'd gone to Everton or West Ham a couple of years ago. De Gea strikes me as a bit of the same.

I hated Al from the moment he let that one in at the near post in the CL final, and the fact that he refused to come off his line and dominate his box showed he was useless.

Him being Spanish was just a bonus.

After the exciting start to the season we should be back to normality, ie ennui.
