The BBC reckon Alex is out for 2 months too!
I'd go as far as saying that if we're not top by the end of January, then we don't deserve to win anything this season.
I dunno, our fixture list in the latter half of the season is easier I reckon. If we're somewhere near the summit by January I think we've a great chance.
They've got Ferreira as a CB; we really ought to be able to take advantage of that with just a two point gap.
Ferreira is really terrible as a centreback. Absolutely horrible. He is the sole reason they lost to Sunderland.
The sole reason.. Don't be silly.
A little overstatement but you get the idea. Every single attack of Sunderland, if you notice what Ferreira was doing

Meh, trophies aren't handed out in January. My take on this season is that there aren't any defining games/months, ts simply who outlasts the other two. Even if we're 3rd in January, so long as we're within touching distance we'll be there or thereabouts.
I know what you mean though, if Chelsea do have a CB crisis now would be a great time to pounce. I think our best chance to win the league is to hit the front as early as possible.

But two weeks ago you said that no one in their right mind could possibly think that we're challenging for a trophy this season. I have to agree with Armor. Trophies are not handed out in november, nor in january.
I'll go out on a limb and make a bold prediction that if we are top of the table at the end of the 22nd of May, we most likely will win the premiership!

I didn't read your post properly the first time around lagos.
Overlooked the all important date!
Thought for a moment you'd gone mad

I think that's kind of my point though. We have such a great opportunity now but we seem incapable of taking advantage of it and that is indicative of our capabilities; unfortunately despite my hopeful naivety, it seems as if my natural pessimism will once again be the winner this season.
Rumours doing the rounds on Twitter that Ancelotti handed in his resignation yesterday, which was rejected.

Wouldn't be surprised. Martin Samuel reckoned Wilkins was sacked because Abramovich felt as if he amassed too much power, and reckoned Mourinho was sacked for similar reasons. I also wouldn't be surprised if their poor run of form has to do with what is happening behind the scenes.
The more Chelsea struggles, the harder it is to accept that we dropped points yesterday.
Does everyone feel as if Chelsea is a shoe-in for the title this season?
Such a strange thing to do. Apparently he got a seven-game suspension for it which will keep him out until early february.
That lad took it fairly well, huh?
That was retarded.
I was at the game where Suarez denied Ghana a place in the World Cup semi-finals. He's an unsporting bastard. No problem with him getting a long ban
yea he seems bit of a dickhead.
blackpool 2-0 up, get in!
BERBATOV HAS SCORED 5 GOALS.
United 7 up against Blackburn. Berbatov with 5.
I haven't been playing FF lately so I still have Cesc as my captain. Malouda is next in line but if he doesn't play tomorrow it'll fall to Berbatov

Do you still hate Bolton?
They play decent football now. If that wasn't the reason for your hate in the first place then who cares about their results (as long as they don't finish above us).
WTF? What's happening with Blackburn. How can they be so shit with 11men on the field?
tony, i like the way blackpool play and want them to stay up. with allardyce gone, bolton is a non-entity to me.
Loyan wrote:WTF? What's happening with Blackburn. How can they be so shit with 11men on the field?
They've got Sam Allardyce as their manager.
Blackburn were awful and after 2-0 pretty much every goal was a gift, you're going to get hammered if you leave so many gaps at the back. I have to say though United played some amazing counter attacking football yesterday. They have Blackpool next week, a couple of nice confidence building games before they face us.
Klaus wrote:Been looking for an excuse to post a few videos of this guy, so here goes. Dortmund are top of the table in Bundesliga right now, and a big part of the reason is Shinji Kagawa, a 21-year-old japanese fella who they signed from J-League this season:
I've been keeping an eye on Dortmund all season because of him. I can't remember the last time someone made such a huge impression on me at first sight. If I could bring one player to Arsenal right now he would be the one. Screw Hazard, Afellay and Benzema. This guy was born to play for us.
Scored Dortmund's second goal yesterday and created their third with a quality backheel assist: http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/borussia-dortmund-borussia-monchengladbach-7682588/
I want him at Arsenal so much.
Did anyone see the football league show feature on Nicky Maynard the other day? That guy has scored some ridiculous goals.
Inter Milan are 6th in Serie A, at risk of of falling as low as 8th once the weekend is over.
These are the facts
Such a waste of space manager. Taking the current Italian and European champions to 7th with practically the same squad as last year, making Maicon look like he'd aged 10 years in the process. Crazy.
Looks like Martin Jol will be taking over at Newcastle after resigning at Ajax.
All the Geordies will be making one huge u-turn i fancy. Still a pretty rough ride for Hughton.
I wonder if Houghton and Ashley had personl incompatibilites. That is the only way to explain the sacking. A guy wins the Championship, and has you midtable at the halfway point of the season despite low transfer spending on your part. In that period, he has walloped the local rivals, beaten the current league leaders and drawn with the defending champions. So you sack him.

Newcastle to appoint Pardew. I don't know what went on behind the scenes (obviously) but that is a shocker.
Piss off with that.
haha theyre going to go straight back down. how does pardew still get a job after not playing tevez and mascherano? the guy literally couldn't identify talent when it was right in front of him.
Such folly even by their standards.
Newcastle are pure comedy. I thought appointing Shearer and renaming St James' Park after an email address was as low as it got but this is just mind-boggling. When will it end?

Huh? When?
They renamed it sportsdirect.com@StJames'Park. Admittedly that's not a valid email address, but it is fucking stupid! Don't know if that's been reversed yet.
