He's come out and apologised for that now. He also made comments about Pedersen's fitness and age too. Blamed it on not striking the right balance between placating the fans and doing the right thing.

On the other hand Pedersen is a diving bastard and Kean had a number of questionable comments caught on tape himself. Some of which were about Allardyce so maybe this just shows us you get what you deserve most of the time.

Cesc is a lot of things, but mentally tough isn't one of them. If there's anything special in his makeup as a footballer from the PL and Arsenal it's probably exposure to a generation of great players, and an extended run in a top club with a responsibility to create or score lots of goals at a very young age.

But in any case, he's obviously not a craven lout like Chamakh - I meant relative to the Barcelona team-mates who don't have his PL background, which the article seeks to claim blended toughness with his Spanish flair.

I've never got that with Cesc and I've always thought of him as being very tough mentally. Absolute and total belief in his own ability. Possibly lost his way a bit in his last season with us, but by then I think he didn't want to be here anymore.

Think he thrives at Barca because he is surrounded by some tough nuts who have flair AND toughness...At Arsenal he was surrounded by some soft headed melons...Not many games that I can think of (my memory is pretty bad!), where his play willed the team to win...In his favor though, the Arsenal collapses in late winter/early spring in recent seasons have more to do with AW's lack of rotation and quality of depth rather than Cesc's toughness and leadership...He was knackered....
