Happening?! He should be bloody grateful! When he should have stood trial and had his international career ended already a long time ago, instead he gets to go to the Euros and gets an extended vacation at the start of the next season. Considering his age that would most probably have been it for him at international level anyway. There is absolutely nothing positive about this decision at all IMO.

Wish the black players in the national team would put their foot down here and do what Wayne Bridge did ahead of the WC. Wayne Bridge is a pretty poor footballer, but I have a lot of respect for him for saying no to the WC because of Terry.

Half keeping an eye on the Dortmund game, hadn't seen them play since we met them in the CL.
They've really turned things around.
Three points clear of Bayern now (having played one game more).
And without Gotze too.

Thought they looked a bit 'Arsenal' in the first half. Defence weren't playing well and they couldn't get their passing game together under heavy pressure. A big difference is that they mix it up by using quick through balls from deeper positions whereas we have developed a habit of punting it high and long under the same circumstances. Lewandowski has really come on as a player too.

The key though, is that they have the belief in what they are trying to do that develops from winning a championship.

Dortmund do have that look of a team confident and united alright.
Lewandowski did anything but impress me when we played them so I'm quite amazed he's become a regular on the scoresheet since then.

it's not like america or france. you need clout to put your foot down in a manner that has impact and they have none -- and bridge just wanted a vacation anyway, his life is a vacation.

Black people have more clout in England than in France in general. The black experience is different in France, sure, but black French people are surprised at how different it is in the UK.

But then many footballers here are so integrated into the system that they feel they are betraying the football community by speaking out too much. At least Jason Roberts makes a stand/a point. And so did Anton Ferdinand to be fair.

If the English FA or Capello had to choose between Terry on the one hand and Cole, Bent, Johnson, Lescott, Lennon, Young, Walcott, Sturridge, Welbeck and Defoe on the other hand... If even half of those players came out and refused to play with Terry in the team. Can you imagine the shitstorm the FA would be in if they chose Terry? Even on principle or whatever. Terry would be done.

i'm not talking about general society, i was just talking about sports. in france or america the black players (in any of the sports) would have been very public with their feelings because they know they are extremely important. and they wouldn't be able to go back home and face people and i could see them getting dissed on radio as coons/uncle toms, etc.

the england players are largely mixed so their experiences might be different as well. i don't really know why they are largely silent or glenn johnson is rocking a suarez t-shirt. only they know.

That's the man who reinstated Terry as captain for no visible reason. Doubt he sees it that way.

Terry wouldn't be a huge loss to the team nowadays anyway. Think I'd stick Smalling in there with Jagielka or Cahill.

Love the team Capello has assembled. There's a genuine sense of togetherness about that defence. Centreback #1 is mad at Centreback #2 because he shouted racist slur against Centreback #1's brother. Meanwhile Left-back #2 has retired from the national team because Centreback #2 diddled his wife. And no one wants to hang out with Cahill because he looks like a troll.
