Porto had a small budget relative to Champs League opponents.
I thought it would be a good opportunity for Mourinho to try dispel the myth that he only takes jobs with rich teams. It's not his fault that rich teams want him, but it might help him prove he is a good coach if he wins with a financially-challenged side.

Would be harsh on Mancini if Mourinho takes the City job if Mancini wins the league.

First season here (only half or two thirds of a season) he doesn't get City into the top four. Perhaps overrated but he is admired by the City fans.

Second season he wins the FA Cup and gets top four.

Third season I hope he wins the League title but if he doesn't then actually you'd have to say that Mourinho would be a better bet. If Mancini wins it he deserves another season even surely.
