According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it would be loan until June with then the right to buy, and the amount is allegedly around 23M Euros. They claim he would be making 2.5M from Jan-June, and then 5M/year, less than the 8M he makes at City.

What if Citeh offer Villareal beaucoup pounds to win? I can see why the Sheikhs might feel incentivized to do so. There have been rumors. A big inducement - player bonuses, etc., might be enough to jolt that team into action. The question though, is Villareal have enough talent to keep their end of the bargain?

I don't think they do. I mentioned this in the betting thread yesterday, but they've taken zero points so far in the group and have a six-pointer coming up against Sociedad this weekend. They're without a shot on Europa League too so it's too late to even begin to save some face. I expect them to rest a couple of players tonight. If they lose on saturday they get dragged into the relegation battle in La Liga.

I heard someone make the argument not long ago that if City go out, it could actually hurt their big squad and squad harmony. If they're in the CL there are more top games to give the players playing time, whereas if they end up in the Europa League they'll either go for it(and they'll play even more games) or more likely they'll play a shaddow squad(which could cause resentment, bruised egos...etc). Just look at what Toure already supposedly said about Savic.

Oh and I'd just like to take a minute to wish Vidic a speedy recovery.

I know he's a Manchester United player and his injury weakens them massively......

But I hate to see footballers having to spend such a long period on the sidelines (if his injury really is serious)

On that note I also hope Lucas has a full recovery.

Thanks Nela. Only natural that tension will build within the City squad if they have less high profile games games to keep most players happy. On the other hand they seemed to deal quite well with this whole Tevez deal.

Why is it ridiculous? he made an obscene towards the general public some of whom were just innocent bystanders.
These millionaire footballers have to be tamed and taught a good hard lesson that you can't obscenely or racially abuse people (who've paid good money) just because you're on a football pitch in some silly clothes.
