Does anyone understand how the new tax in France affects foreign footballers?
I have never been able to get a grasp on it but it seems like that would affect the summer transfer business if these players are smart.

Interestingly, this breaks less than 24 hours after stories emerged that Chelsea were shifting focus and pursuing Lewandowski instead as their main transfer target this summer.
Okay. I wasn't sure if my mate was on the wind-up.

Monaco are sovereign.

The 10 million Euro/yr deal with Monaco? Seems crazy but who knows with the way this summer is lining up..
That would be shocking, and unambitious.

Yeah, there was something last week about the FFF wanting them to cough up 200m to participate in Ligue 1.

DOH! What about PSG? Are players like Thiago Silva and Ibra paying 75% in taxes?
That's why Ibra is doing a runner.

No, according to the French prime minister, yes according to others, but nobody actually knows yet. The parliament will be consulted in 2014 apparently.
The tax only affects large companies, and funnily enough football clubs are considered to be "small to medium sized" businesses so theoretically the tax doesn't affect their employees.

EDIT: Also, the company pays the tax, not the employees, so existing footballer's contracts would be unaffected in terms of net pay for the players until renewal (when the clubs will presumably try to reduce the wage bill if the tax is enforced).
If I remember, Ibra's deal was such that his gross salary was adjusted to account for the 75% interest rate, so that his net wages would still be 200k or whatever it was
In typical French fashion there is no simple answer to that question.
The French are well weird
Falcao to Monaco done deal?
Some Spanish TV station reported he was off to Monaco but I've not seen anything official yet
Falcao to Monaco is good deal for us, as long as he don't join Chelsea.
Monaco please take Sagna as well while we are at it.

Thanks for this Irish. What a crazy world. I wouldn't want to be PSG's accountant when that shoe drops...
FFS the URL got me all excited, until I clicked on it! This bit: "Arsenal-sign-Lukasz-Piszczek-Borussia-Dortmund.html"

No problem Hollandes 75% tax rate is ridiculous, for all sectors.
Piszczek would be fucking awesome. We might be able to attract him if we show some intent and get a high-profile player or two in the summer window. We could offer him a higher salary and a much better league for starters. Think he wants to make one last move before he's too old.
