I'm pretty much with Quincy here. I either enjoy a film or I don't. I can enjoy different movies for different reasons but ultimately it's about entertainment and whether the 2 hours has been worth it or a waste of my precious time! These days I tend to watch a lot of kids/teen type movies with the family and this means watching alot of stuff I would have ignored in the past.

I agree with ye too but enjoyment isn't a binary there are levels of enjoyment. For instance I watched Bridge of Spies last night and I enjoyed it but I enjoyed The Force Awakens a hell of a lot more. And I watched the Revenant the night before that and I enjoyed some of it but found a lot of it really unsatisfying.

Saw Brooklyn. It's a bit manipulative but it's quite moving. The parts set in New York are very amusing at times.

Saw The Big Short. Great little film, will definitely be popular with Tollyites. Another good character part for Steve Carell.

I seen people complaining about Carell but I thought he was the only white guy who deserved a nomination and didn't get it.

I watched Brooklyn last night. Nice little film, quite funny in parts but jesus the main character was an awful bitch. I don't think Saoirse Ronan was great either. When she's supposed to be shy and lacking in confidence I didn't buy it. Something about her body language always carries a little too much arrogance and she can't shake it in her performance.

Anyway, saw Big Short too the other day. Liked it a lot although they went overboard with the fast editing for me. The soundtrack is fantastic. A much better film than The Wolf of Wall Street.

Revenant wasn't out yet last weekend over here, and I've yet to see Big Short or local hit Ola Bola.

I dont mind him but ive yet to be impressed by him really. Hes fine in these bit parts but hes a long way to.go to reach his Dads level.

TBH I haven't been any more exposed to Saoirse Ronan than any other actor but she does annoy me and maybe it's for reasons that are localised. She comes across as really arrogant to me, maybe that's hidden beneath her 'begorrah begosh' act to foreigners. And I usually like Irish actors.

I can't cope with her accent, heard it in the trailer and it put me off going to see the film.

The Big Short was exellent, Christian Bale in any film is worth watching.

I was worn out from his journey back to the fort, and was actually annoyed when be took it upon himself to go back out on the hunt again.

You should have heard the accent her best mate was trying but at least she wasnt Irish.

If there's one thing that grinds my gears, it's english (british) actors, hamming it up for an american audience. Blokes actually from london giving it the old "eeeeezy geezer, nees up muva brawn, cor blimey". It's horrific.

typecasting has ruined Saoirse. I keep thinking she's about to decapitate or maim someone.
