Well that's what Wenger was thinking when forced into a quick decision. Despite the 'we came close' thing, I'm just not sure it worked out that way. Barcelona were favourites but not to the extent that it was made out to be. Even with 10 men, you can (and should) create some chances. Having Pires supporting Henry, and we might've converted (or added) a few of the half-chances. As an irrelevant point, I reckon Pires would've retired here too. He never got over that.

Pires was shot that season, his legs had gone. Not the player you wanted on the pitch against an extra-man Barcelona. Our best chance was actually created by Hleb.. He put Henry clean through with 15 mins left to go and he fluffed it.
As Captain said, Reyes shouldve come on but unfortunately his Real Madrid radio interview antics pretty much severed things.
Anyways I think we can do Bayern but if we display any of the defending we have at times so far this season I think things could get ugly. Looking forward to it anyhow.
